The handset is about the size of an older iPhone, 12 cm tall and 6 cm wide, with a large LED screen you can dim and hard, self-illuminating buttons that give a definite click. It charges through a micro-USB socket, has a power-saving mode to slow the battery down, and lets you load one of your own photos as the start-up screen. The screen backlight can be set to one of five colours to suit your interior.

Under the surface it adds a set of conveniences and protections. Solenoid valve speed has 20 levels for how quickly the car rises or drops. Key-on recall takes the car to a preset height when you start it, and with the height sensor kit fitted the system corrects ride height automatically as the load changes. Three compressor pressure bands are offered, and a low-pressure warning can be set to the value you choose.

To look after the compressor, you can switch it off entirely if you rarely use it, and the controller cuts power when supply voltage drops below 12.0 V by default, or if the compressor has run continuously for 15 minutes or is overheating.
