Why air on this car

The Honda Odyssey minivan built for the US market carries the weight of a full family load low over its MacPherson-strut front end, which is exactly why so many end up sitting proud on their arches when loaded to their kerb weight or higher. Air suspension gives you a way to correct that without living with a permanently stiff, low ride on a vehicle that spends most of its life ferrying people and luggage.

Set a driving height that keeps the van settled and planted with a full cabin, then dial in a touch more lift for a steep driveway apron or a rutted car park without scraping the front splitter or the rear valance. Because the air spring still has genuine travel to work with, the ride stays comfortable over motorway expansion joints rather than turning brittle, which matters on a vehicle built to carry passengers rather than chase apex speed.

Both top mounts here are standard, comfort-oriented items, so the character of the ride stays close to how the van left the factory. For this Odyssey, the choice between tiers really comes down to whether basic height control suits your use, or whether automatic corner-by-corner adjustment is worth paying for.

What's in the kit

Struts and bags

Struts and bags is the air suspension hardware without any management: four vehicle-specific struts with 36 levels of damping adjustment and the air bags that go on them. Choose it if you already run management you want to keep, or you are buying the RC1 or RC2 controller and tank separately.

Who it suits: Owners keeping their existing management or choosing their own, who need only the struts and air bags.

Fitment notes

  • Front top mount: Rubber top mount. The standard fitment on McPherson-strut cars. Rubber isolates the body from the strut for the quietest ride, at the cost of a little precision. Camber is not adjustable on this mount.
  • Rear top mount: OE top mount. The kit reuses your car's original top mount rather than supplying a new one. Ride feel and camber stay as the factory set them.
  • Stock check needed: this application is built to order and availability must be confirmed with the factory before we take payment. We will confirm by email before charging you.
  • Application note: McPHERSON.
  • Application note: USA.
  • Listed by the factory as: ODYSSEY (McPHERSON) (USA).
  • Built to order — the typical lead time is around 21 working days from the date of purchase to UK delivery. We confirm the lead time for your kit before you pay.

Five years against oil leaks, with a service every two years

AirForce covers its air suspension struts against oil leakage for five years. To keep that cover, the struts need to come back for inspection and maintenance every two years; the manufacturer treats the service as a condition of the warranty, so book it in and keep the paperwork.

Damage caused by suspension components rubbing against an inflated air bag is not covered, which is why we ask your fitter to cycle the system to full height and check clearances before they hand the car back.

Compressors, air bags and the electronic control box and remotes carry the manufacturer’s separate terms, and electronic parts may need to go back to the factory for repair. Ask us for the current wording before you order.

None of this affects your statutory rights as a UK consumer. If a product is faulty, your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply alongside the manufacturer’s warranty, and your contract is with us as the retailer.
